Water Sports and Beaches
Casa San Gabriel is only 20 minutes drive from Lake Trasimeno which has a vast array of activities. Watersports include:
- Sailing: There are 2 schools for sailing, Castiglione del Lago which is open all year and Passignano sul Trasimeno which is open from May to October.
- Windsurfing - 2 schools
- Water skiing - 2 schools
In addition there are nine public beaches on the Islands and around the lake, where you can sunbathe or swim in the shallow water of the lake.
Walking
The immediate area around Casa San Gabriel is ideal for a leisurely 1 or 2 hour walk in the unspoilt countryside of our valley. The valleys are a mass of wild flowers in the spring and stunning colours in the autumn.
We can also provide maps and details of a number of walks in this area that range in length and difficulty, for example to the summits of Monte Tezio and Mount Subasio or the area around Lake Trasimeno.
Tennis
In Umbertide, (approx 10 mins drive) there is a large tennis centre.
Here you can hire both indoor and outdoor courts and we have a couple of tennis racquets that you are welcome to borrow.
Horseriding
There are a number of good riding schools in the nearby area where we can arrange for a lesson or to go for a relaxing ride in the countryside.
